 · Set one thousand years from now, the Earth is ravaged by pollution and war. In the Valley of the Wind lives Nausicaä, Princess of her people. Their land borders on a toxic jungle, filled with dangerous over-sized insects. Meanwhile, two nearby nations are bitterly engaged in a war and the Valley of the Wind is stuck in the middle. —grantss/10(K).

This is an anabatic wind (or valley breeze). In mountainous areas, local distortion of the airflow is even more severe. Rocky surfaces, high ridges, sheer cliffs, steep valleys, all combine to produce unpredictable flow patterns and turbulence.

After listening to the soundtrack album countless times, I've found Nausicaa Of The Valley Of The Winds is no exception. The main theme of Nausicaa (hinted on more than one track) is so dynamic, sweeping, and breathtaking, that it is easy for one to just sit back and allow himself to be seeped in to the majestic power of the music.

 · The Pacific Ocean covers one-third of the earth's surface and encompasses many thousands of islands, the home to numerous human societies and cultures. Among these indigenous Oceanic cultures are the intrepid Polynesian double-hulled canoe navigators, the atoll dwellers of Micronesia, the statue carvers of remote Easter Island, and the famed traders of Melanesia.
