Stockholm-based trio Teddybears whip together a giddy mixed-up zonic mash of international style, resulting in their own indescribably delectable sound. Collaborators include Iggy Pop, Neneh Cherry, Elephant Man, Annie and the Soundtrack of Our Lives' Ebbot Lundberg.

On its U.S. debut, SOFT MACHINE, the Stockholm-based electro-rock group Teddybears presents a fun, energetic, and eclectic set. Although the band became known stateside for the jaunty, dancehall-tinged single "Cobrastyle," even more impressive highlights of the album include the propulsive "Yours to Keep" (with singer Neneh Cherry) and the pulsing, Krautrock-inspired "Punkrocker," which Brand: Big Beat / Ada.

Like many Americans, my first exposure to the this Teddybears album was through the Iggy Pop-voiced single "Punkrocker". I've always had a fondness for European techno (unlike Americans, the folk on the other side of the pond seem to understand the idea of using variation to keep their mixes interesting), and the synthesized background tracks were catchy, so I went to check out the whole album/5(22).
