McLachlan’s landmark fifth album, the 10x-platinum Surfacing, contained two Grammy Award-winning tracks: “Building a Mystery” and “Last Dance.” 's Afterglow is McLachlan's fifth full-length following in the wake of McLachlan's commercial triumphs with Fumbling Towards Ecstasy () and Surfacing () and the onset of the Lilith Fair.
Now three titles by Canadian songstress Sarah McLachlan have been given this premier makeover and you reap the benefits: Solace, Mirrorball and Afterglow. Afterglow is firmly within the McLachlan signature sound a softly tuneful, mildly atmospheric blend of classic singer/songwriter style and a touch of vaguely dreamy alternative pop, all shined and immaculately produced by Pierre Marchand.

Now we've given three titles by Canadian songstress Sarah McLachlan this premier makeover and you reap the benefits: Solace, Mirrorball and Afterglow. Each on 45 RPM LP and Hybrid SACD. McLachlan's rebellion is hushed on Afterglow, her first studio album since 's Surfacing/5(48).
Sarah McLachlan's "Afterglow" is an excellent sounding CD - on a good playback system it's a "dense" and excellently produced recording even though the number of instruments is limited - for the most part there's piano, bass, drums, guitar and various keyboard sounds helping to provide the "ethereal" presentation that's a common thread throughout the CD/5().
